Benefit for Reutzel / Fischer family

January 20, 2018 4 - 7 pm at the Fairmont National Guard Armory
4-7 Pork Sandwich Dinner, Raffle and Silent Auction 4-6 pm

Gary and Anne Reutzel are members of St. John Vianney Church, Gary is a Knight with the Knights of Columbus also volunteers at St. John Vianney School. Gary is a VFW member and volunteers as a COP (Citizens on Patrol), Past VFW Commander and VFW District leadership. DAV (Disabled American Veterans) member, current Commander. Vice Chairman of MCVM (Martin County Veterans Memorial) and Community Steering Committee. Gary is an officer with MCBTYR (Martin County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon) Anne has also volunteered with MCBTYR.

Mike, Krissy, Hannah, Makenna Fischer family are St. John Vianney Church members, with the girls attending school at SJV. Mike works for Hawkins, has organized many soft ball tournaments raising money for American Cancer Foundation. Fischer’s have volunteered for MCBTYR during Freedom 5K raising money for area military families.

Gary Reutzel was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November having to be hospitalized many times with compilations. He has an e coli infection needing daily flushing of his port delaying chemo treatments. During one of Gary's hospital stays, Anne and Gary received call about their daughter Krissy was taken to Fairmont Hospital, transferred to Mankato given a blood transfusion, she was transferred to Rochester. Krissy has leukemia. Krissy is in an isolation room for 30 days, she is receiving chemo. Her husband Mike is in Rochester with Krissy. Their girls are with Gary and Anne with Anne taking a leave of absence from her job so she can take care of her granddaughters and be with Gary during his doctor visits.

Within one month both are diagnosis with cancer during the holidays. This is heartbreaking for all of them...
