Fairmont is asking community residents to come together for a community conversation on race. It’s Time to Talk: Forums on Race is a YWCA trademarked racial dialogue facilitation process utilizing trained facilitators to lead small table discussions on race. Participants exchange ideas during the introductory conversation in a nonthreatening environment.
This free public event will take place on Wednesday, October 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity to build community connections, grow professional development skills, learn new ways to think about race and more. This forum will be held at Fairmont Elementary School in Budd Room 1017 Center through Door 1, 714 Victoria Street, Fairmont.
Registration is required and has been extended until the day of the event. You can register with Fairmont Community Education & Recreation at (507) 235-3141 until Wednesday Oct. 11.
This event is sponsored by Region Nine Development Commission in partnership with the YWCA-Mankato, Greater Mankato Diversity Council, Fairmont Community Education, Recreation Citizens Advisory Council and Fairmont Public Schools with funding from the Blandin Foundation and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation.
