A FAIRMONT MAN IS FACING MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES FOLLOWING A ONE VEHICLE CRASH IN FAIRMONT MONDAY NIGHT. 19 YEAR OLD ANGEL GUADALUPE ZAVALA JR. FACES TWO FELONY COUNTS OF CRIMINAL VEHICULAR OPERATION -ONE FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE AND THE SECOND FOR SUBSTANTIAL BODILY HARM UNDER THE INFLUENCE. THE CHARGES STEM FROM A CRASH THAT OCCURRED AT 1500 ALBION AVENUE AT 10:20 PM THIS PAST MONDAY ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT. ZAVALA IS TEH ALLEGED DRIVER OF A VEHICLE THAT LEFT THE ROADWAY AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND HIT A LIGHT POLE. THE SUSPECT VEHICLE WAS LOCATED ABOUT 10 HOUSES DOWN THE ROAD FROM THE INTITIAL CRASH AND ALSO CAUSED DAMAGE TO FENCE ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. OFFICERS TALKE TO ZAVALA WHO REPORTEDLY LED THEM TO A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE WHO WAS VISIBLY SUFFERING FROM TWO COMPOUND ARM FRACTURES AND WHO EVENTUALLY HAD TO BE TRANSPORTED BY AIR FOR TREATMENT ACCORDING TO THE CRASH REPORT. ZAVALA ALLEGEDLY HAD ONLY A PERMIT TO DRIVE,NO LICENSE. ZAVALA FACES MAX PENALTIES OF 3 YEARS IN JAIL,10,000 DOLLAR FINES OR BOTH EACH FOR THE CRIMINAL VEHICULAR OPERATION CHARGES PLUS 90 DAYS/1,000 DOLLAR FINES OR BOTH FOR TWO MISDEMENOR COUNTS OF D W I.

A SHERBURN MAN FACES TWO FELONY COUNTS FOR ALLEGED BURGLARY AND A RESTRAINING ORDER VIOLATION. ACCORDING TO THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT 25 YEAR OLD MATTHEW PAUL HOLTZ FACES A 2ND DEGREE BURGLARY CHARGE-MAX PENALTY OF 10 YEARSW IN JAIL/20,000 DOLLAR FINE OR BOTH AND HARRASSMENT-VIOLATION OF RESTRAINING ORDER CHARGE MAX PENALTY 5 YEARS JAIL 10,000 DOLLAR FINE OR BOTH. HOLTZ ALLEGEDLY HAD BEEN OBSERVED COMING FROM A RESIDENCE ON SOUTH MAIN STREET IN SHERBURN HOLDING A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY. THE RESIDENT OF THAT HOME HAD A RESTRANING ORDER AGAINST HOLTZ AND WAS UPSET THAT HOLTZ HAD BEEN THERE AND HAD TAKEN HER ALCOHOL. HOLTZ WAS ARRESTED AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. HE HAS FOUR PRIOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT CONVICTIONS ON HIS RECORD ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT. HOLTZ ALSO FACES A MISDEMEANOR CHARGE FOR THE ALLEGED THEFT WITH A MAX PENALTY OF 90 DAYS/ 1,000 DOLLARS OR BOTH IF CONVICTED.
