THE FAIRMONT SCHOOL BOARD HAS APPROVED ENTERING INTO A THREE YEAR AGREEMENT WITH CHARTWELLS TO SERVE AS FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT COMPANY. CHARTWELL'S HAS BEEN WITH THEM THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS BUT HAD TO GO THROUGH THE BIDDING PROCESS THIS YEAR TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS.

THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED AN AGREEMENT WITH EIDEBAILLY TO COMPLETE THE DISTRICT'S 2016-17 AUDIT. THE AGREEMENT IS FOR THREE YEARS AT COST OF 19,500 DOLLARS FOR 16-17; 20,000 FOR 2017-18 AND 20,400 FOR 2018-19. THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED A 3 YEAR PROPOSAL FROM A+ SYSTEM TO PROVIDE SECURITY SERVICES FOR 2017-18 ,2018-19 AND 2019-20 SCHOOL YEARS AT A COST OF $6,995 DOLLARS PER YEAR.

THE BOARD APPROVED ONE CHANGE TO FEE SCHEDULES IN THE DISTRICT- THAT BEING AND INCREASE IN THE COST OF AN ADULT SEASON PASS TO SCHOOL DISTRICT ACTIVITIES FROM 80 DOLLARS TO 100 DOLLARS EFFECTIVE FOR THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR. THE BOARD APROVED A REQUEST FROM HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL KIM NISS FOR AN EARLY RELEASE FOR SENIOR CLASS STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THEIR ASSIGNMENTS,PAID FINES AND HAVE MADE UP DETENTION. THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR THEM WOULD BE WED. MAY 31. GRADUATION PRACTICE WILL BE HELD AT 9:45 ON THURSDAY JUNE IST. THE GRADUATING SENIORS WILL WALK THE HALLS OF FAIRMONT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THAT MORNING AS WELL.

THE BOARD APPROVED ACCEPTANCE OF TWO GRANTS RECEIVED BY FAIRMONT C E R FROM THE MARTIN COUNTY YOUTH FOUNDATION: 1,750 DOLLARS FRO YOUTH SUMMER NATURE DISCOVERY CAMPS AT CEDAR CREEK PARK INCLUDING THE PRAIRIE ECOLOGY BUS CENTER WITH PRESENTERS AND 2,500 DOLLARS FOR YOUTH ACTIVITY SCHOLARSHIPS.
