Designed to raise awareness of the importance of oral health and collect oral care products for at-risk children, the America’s ToothFairy Smile Drive is being held nationwide this February during National Children’s Dental Health Month. Martin County Early Childhood Dental Initiative (ECDN) will lead campaign activities along with Fairmont Elementary School, St. John Vianney School , St. Paul’s Lutheran School and CER Lights on for Kids.

Local community members are invited to drop off donated oral care products at area schools or the CER Office (714 Victoria Street, Fairmont.) Donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and rinse will be delivered to local children and youth in need.

Community members donating to the Smile Drive are encouraged to share their experience by snapping a photo and using the hashtag #SmileDrive on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

For more information about the Smile Drive and how community members can participate, contact Roni Dauer in CER at 238-4632 or April Tordsen, RN at 238-4487.

“We are so grateful that caring individuals and volunteer groups across the country are helping ensure children receive the oral care products they need through the America’s ToothFairy Smile Drive,” said Fern Ingber, America’s ToothFairy President and CEO. “The participation of Fairmont Area Schools will help promote healthy smiles for local children while providing youth the tools they need to prevent the pain and embarrassment associated with tooth decay.”
