THE FAIRMONT SCHOOL BOARD TUESDAY APPROVED A PROPOSAL FROM I & S GROUP OF MANKATO TO CONDUCT AN EXTERIOR WALL ASSESSMENT OF THE JUNIOR/SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND THE NORTH ACADEMIC WING OF THE ORIGINAL BUILDING AT FAIRMONT ELEMENTARY. RECOMMENDATIONS RESULTING FROM THE ASSESSMENT WILL HELP THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET FOR AND SCHEDULE FUTURE TUCK POINTING PROJECTS. COST OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED 6,240 DOLLARS.

THE BOARD APPROVED THE PAY EQUITY REPORT FOR SALARIES IN PLACE IN DECEMBER OF 2012 FOR THE REPORT THAT IS DUE TO THE STATE BY THE END OF THIS MONTH. THE DISTRICT MUST SHOW THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE A PATTERN OF UNDERPAYMENT TO FEMALE DOMINATED CLASSIFICATIONS. THE DISTRICT MUST ALSO SHOW THAT FEMALE DOMINATED JOB CLASSICATIONS ARE NOT AT A DISADVANTAGE FOR HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS. COMPLIANCE IS DETERMINED BY VARIOUS TESTS. THE ANALYSIS INDICATES THE DISTRICT IS IN COMPLIANCE.
THE FAIRMONT SCHOOL DISTRICT IS REQUIRED TO REPORT TO THE PAY EQUITY OFFICE OF MINNESOTA MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET TO ENSURE THE DISTRICT IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE PAY EQUITY STATUE.
