THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD TUESDAY APPROVED A BID ON THE L E D LIGHTING PROJECT. TWO BIDS WERE RECIEVED BY THE DISTRICT IN SEPTEMBER AND THE DIFFERENCE IN BID AMOUNTS PROMPTED THE HIRING OF AN OUTSIDE THIRD PARTY TO REVIEW THE PROPOSALS TO SEE IF COSTS OF FIXTURES WEE OF EQUAL QUALITY. I S G OF MANKATO'S FINDINGS WERE REVIEWED BY THE OPERATIONS COMMITTEE AND INDICATED OVERALL PERFORMANCE AND QUALITY OF BIDS WERE EQUAL. THE LOW BIDDER, DEWAR ELECTRIC OF FAIRMONT WAS AWARDED THE PROJECT WITH THEIR BID OF 671,927 DOLLARS. THE OTHER BID FROM RETROFIT COMPANY WAS 750,408 DOLLARS.
FUNDING FOR THE PROJECT COMES FROM LONG TERM FACILITIES MAINTENANCE FUNDS.

THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD HEARD A PRESENTATION FROM KATE KALLENBACH AND MOLLY BLEES PLUS 3 STUDENT ACTORS ABOUT THE UPCOMING SCHOOL MUSICAL PERFROMANCE OF " INTO THE WOODS". THERE WILL BE MATINEE PERFORMANCE FOR SENIOR CITIZENS AT 12:30 PM NOV.8TH WITH SHOWINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT 7 PM NOV. 9TH -11TH AT THE FAIRMONT HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER.

THE BOARD ACCEPTED A DONATION OF $197.50 FROM HYVEE EARMARKED FOR STUDENT ACTIVITIES
