THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD MET TUESDAY NIGHT AND IN THE ONLY ITEM OF NEW BUSINESS WAS APPROVAL OF SETTING THE TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING FOR 6 PM ON DECEMBER 12. SUPERINTENDENT JOE BROWN COMMENTED THAT THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS ARE READY TO GO FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR.

HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL KIM NISS WAS AT THE MEETIFG TO IN FORM THE BOARD ABOUT THE CARDINAL NIGHT OUT THAT IS COMING UP A WEEK FROM TONIGHT AUGUST 30TH BEGINNING AT 5 PM WITH AN ACTIVITIES SHOWCASE AND TAILGATE IN THE HORSESHOE AREA .

MRS. NISS SAYS THAT SEASON ACTIVITY PASSES AND FOOD AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. AT THAT TIME.

WHILE THAT'S GOING ON ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL ANDY TRAETOW TALKED ABOUT SESSIONS TAKING PLACE IN THE SCHOOL AS FAR AS INCENTIVES FOR THE COMING YEAR IN THE JUNIOR-SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND PARENTS

THE FALL PEPFEST WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 6-7 AS ALL ACTIVITIES PARTICIPANTS WILL BE INTRODUCED. PRINCIPAL NISS SAYS OVER 400 STUDENTS ARE INVOLVED IN ACTIVITIES THIS FALL.

FROM 7-8 PM WILL BE 7TH AND 8TH GRADE ORIENTATION IN THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AND CLASS ROOMS WHILE HIGH SCHOOL STUENTS WILL HAVE TIME TO MEET THEIR TEACHERS AND CLASSROOMS AT THIS TIME PLUS PRINCIPAL NISS WILL HOLD A ROUNDTABLE IN THE COMMONS AREA FOR ALL INTERESTED PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

AT 8 PM A DRAWING FOR FREE ACTIVITY PASSES WILL TAKE PLACE.

SUPERINTENDENT JOE BROWN'S PERFORMANCE EVALUATION WAS GIVEN BY BOARD MEMBER NICOLE GREEN WHO SAID IT WAS VERY POSITIVE.

THE FAIRMONT SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNIZED THE FAIRMONT SOCCER ASSOCIATION DONATION OF NEW JERSEYS TO VARSITY PLAYERS AND SOCKS FOR 128 PLAYERS WORTH A TOTAL $8,031.41 TO THE SCHOOL SOCCER TEAMS.
