FAIRMONT PARK BOARD MEMBERS MET TUESDAY AT THE LINCOLN PARK SHELTER HOUSE AND WERE GIVEN A TOUR BY PARK AND STREET SUPERINTENDENT NICK LARDY. THE CITY IS CONTEMPLATING IMPROVEMENTS ON THE STRUCTURE SUCH AS HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY AND H V A C UPGRADES AND OPTIONS ON WHETHER TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE ENTIRE STRUCTURE. BECAUSE OF THE EXTENSIVE COSTS OF EITHER OPTION THE PROJECT WILL BE INCLUDED IN TO THE CITY'S 5 YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN WITH MORE DISCUSSION FORTHCOMING.

RONI DAUER, FAIRMONT C E R DIRECTOR, UPDATED THE BOARD ON THE FAIRMONT SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAM AT 6 FAIRMONT = PARKS TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND THURSDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 10TH. SHE SAYS SO FAR 37 CHILDREN REGISTERED FOR THOSE EVENTS THIS SUMMER THAT FEATURE ARTS, CRAFTS, GAMES, CREATIVE PLAY AND MORE, PLUS MAKERSPACE MONDAYS THAT TAKE PLACE AT FAIRMONT ELEMENTARY HAVE BEEN WELL ATTENDED AS WELL AND RUN THROUGH AUGUST 7. SHE PROMOTED CARDINAL FOOTBALL CAMP COMING UP NEXT WEEK FOR 4TH-9TH GRADERS AND FLAG FOOTBALL FOR BOYS AND GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 1-3 THIS FALL ALONG WITH OTHER OFFERINGS AT C E R. THE 39TH ANNUAL FAIRMONT SUMMER RUN TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY JULY 29TH.
