A FAIRMONT MAN IS FACING A FELONY DRUG CHARGE. ACCORDING TO THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT, 25 YEAR OLD DORIAN LAMAR STINNETT IS CHARGED WITH FIFTH DEGREE DRUG POSSESSION. MAX PENALTY IF CONVICTED FIVE YEARS IN JAIL/10,000 FINE OR BOTH.

FAIRMONT POLICE WERE DISPATCHED TO THE PROFINIUM BANK PARKING LOT ON APRIL 18 TO A REPORT OF A FIGHT. A WITNESS TOLD THEM THAT SHE HAD A FIGHT WITH STINNETT WHO BECAME UPSET WITH HER OVER MONEY. STINNETT HAD LEFT THE SCENE. A STATE TROOPER ADVISED THE OFFICERS THAT HE HAD THE STOPPED THE SUSPECT VEHICLE ON JOHNSON STREET. THE TROOPER AND ONE OFFICER WERE ON A CIVIL STANDBY WHILE STINNETT GRABBED SOME CLOTHING AT HIS RESIDENCE.

WHILE INSIDE, STINNETT ALLEGEDLY BROKE A LAPTOP, AFTER WHICH OFFICERS PLACED HIM UNDER ARREST BUT HE RESISTED. THREE ATTEMPTS TO "TAZE" STINNETT FAILED BUT THEN HE EVENTUALLY GAVE IN TO BEING HANDCUFFED AFTER WHICH HE ALLEGEDLY BROKE A SHELF AND COFFEE TABLE BEFORE BEING TAKEN AWAY. WHILE BEING PROCESSED, JAIL STAFF DISCOVERED TWO METH PIPES IN HIS BELONGINGS WHICH LATER TESTED POSITIVE FOR METH.

DORIAN STINNETT HAS A PRIOR CONVICTION FOR A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE CRIME IN MINNESOTA ACCORDING TO THE REPORT. STINNETT ALSO FACES MISDEMEANOR CHARGES FOR OBSTRUCTING LEGAL PROCESS, DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.
