THREE PEOPLE FACE SEVERAL FELONY CHARGES INVOLVING THEFT BY SWINDLE IN MARTIN COUNTY DISTRICT COURT. 44 YEAR-OLD DERRY TODD DETTMER AND 72 YEAR OLD KATHLEEN FRANCES DETTMER-SKELLY, BOTH OF WELCOME, AND 35 YEAR-OLD JESSICA CONFER DETTMER OF NEW ULM, ACCORDING TO THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT ALL FACE 10 FELONY CHARGES OF THEFT BY SWINDLE. JESSICA CONFER DETTMER ALSO FACES 10 MORE FELONY COUNTS OF AIDING AND ABETTING THEFT BY SWINDLE.

MAXIMUM PENALTIES IF CONVICTED ON ALL OF THE CHARGES OF THEFT FOR SWINDLE FOR EACH IS 150 YEARS IN PRISON / 600,000 DOLLAR FINES OR BOTH FOR ALL THREE. JESSICA DETTMER ALSO FACES THOSE SAME PENALTIES FOR AIDING AND ABETTING ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE THEFT COMPLAINTS STATES THAT DERRY TODD DETTMER WAS RELEASED FROM PRISON IN 2011 ON FRAUD RELATED CHARGES AND SINCE THEN HE AND HIS WIFE JESSICA ALLEGEDLY SWINDLED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS THROUGH HIS MOTHER KATHLEEN FRANCES DETTMER-SKELLY. THE REPORT GOES ON TO SAY THAT THEY STOLE OVER 1.3 MILLION DOLLARS FROM THEIR VICTIMS AND SPENT ALL OF IT.

THE COMPLAINT STATES THAT KATHLEEN DETTMER-SKELLY ALLEGEDLY SWINDLED WOULD BE BUYERS OF PIECES OF ART AND COLLECTABLES OUT OF OVER 844,000 DOLLARS AND GAVE 580,000 TO JESSICA DETTMER WHO HAD ALLEGEDLY SET UP AND REGISTERED A WEBSITE TO ENABLE THE SWINDLE. DERRY TODD DETTMER ALLEGEDLY GAINED OVER 347,000 DOLLARS IN SEVERAL BUSINESS SCHEMES AND CAME UP WITH NAMES OF PEOPLE THAT DID NOT EXIST IN ORDER TO CONTINUE THE SWINDLE ACCORDING THE COMPLAINT.

THE DETTMER'S HAVE INITIAL COURT APPEARANCES THIS MONDAY AND DETTMER-SKELLY ON TUESDAY IN MARTIN COUNTY DISTRICT COURT.
