THE CITY OF FAIRMONT IS IN THE PROCESS OF SEARCHING FOR A NEW POLICE CHIEF TO REPLACE GREG BROLSMA WHO IS RETIRING AT THE END OF THIS MONTH. THE SEARCH HAD BROUGHT IN 30 APPLICANTS FROM 11 STATES. THE FINAL FIVE HAVE BEEN DETERMINED.

THEY IINCLUDE :

ROSS GULLICKSON WITH 20 YEARS LAW ENFORCEMENTCURRETLY WITH THE THREE RIVERS PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT IN PLYMOUTH

MICHAEL HUNTER - 28 YEAR LAW ENFORCEMENT VETERAN, WHO RIGHT NOW IS A SERGEANT WITH THE FAIRMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT.

PETER KETCHUM- 24 YEAR LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE WITH FRANKLIN ,INDIANA POLICE DEPARTMENT.

MICAH VAN OTTERLOO, 17 YEARS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT ,CURRENTLY WITH SPENCER,IOWA POLICE DEPARTMENT.

ERIC TONDER, 28 YEAR LAW ENFORCEMENT VETERAN,CURRENTLY A DETETECTIVE WITH THE FAIRMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT.

FAIRMONT CITY ADMINISTRATOR MIKE HUMPAL SAYS THOSE FIVE WILL BE INTERVIEWED FOR THE POSITION BY HIM AND THE FAIRMONT POLICE COMMISSION ON OCT. 24-25 IN FAIRMONT.

THE FINAL DECISION MAY COME BY THE SECOND WEEK IN NOVEMBER.
