THE MARTIN COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MONDAY HEARD FROM FAIRMONT AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT MARGARET DILLARD. SHE WAS ON HAND TO UPDATE THE BOARD ON THE "BRAIN GAIN" PROJECT, NOW KNOWN AS FAIRMONT AREA LIFE. SHE SAID THE WEBSITE IS GETTING MORE PHOTOS AND VISITOR TESTIMONIALS THE PROJECT HAS MORE OF A SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE WITH INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK.

MARGARET SAYS THEY HAVE AN ACTIVE DATA BASE TRACKING FAIRMONT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES AND NEW EMPHASIS ON PRINTED MATERIALS AND WILL BE COMING OUT WITH A NEW BROCHURE, RELAYING EXPERIENCES INSTEAD OF STATS AND ARE TRYING TO MARKET AND REACH OUT TO THE REST OF MARTIN COUNTY AS WELL. SHE SAYS THREE FAMILIES HAVE RELOCATED TO THE AREA AFTER SEEING INFORMATION ON WEBSITE OR IN BROCHURE. MARGARET DILLARD WAS HOPING FOR SOME FUNDING HELP FROM MARTIN COUNTY WHETHER IT BE FOR HELPING PAY FOR PRINTING OR SUBSIDIZING OTHER COMMUNITIES IN THE COUNTY SO THEY COULD PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION FOR A COUNTYWIDE PUBLICATION.
