Input Needed On Developing Minnesota River Congress Policies
The Minnesota River Congress is in the process of adopting a public Policy Statement/Agenda that will guide the actions and advocacy work of the Minnesota River Congress. This Policy Statement will be adopted by those persons attending the Minnesota River Congress on Thursday November 17th 2016. We need your help to build that Minnesota River Congress Policy Statement.
We know that many passionate people in the Minnesota River basin have ideas for policy statements that might be included in the Minnesota River Congress Policy Statement. We are asking you to attend one of 6 meetings in the Minnesota Basin and submit those items you feel are appropriate for inclusion in our final policy statement. A meeting will be held in Fairmont on Tuesday, August 23rd at the Knights of Columbus Hall 920 East Tenth Street, Fairmont beginning at 7 PM. This meeting is co-hosted by Rural Advantage and the MN River Congress.
Please submit items that have a basin wide or significant impact. Please only submit items that call for specific and measurable action by the Minnesota River Congress. Finally, we ask you to submit items that includes background information supporting the policy you are advocating. Any person or group is encouraged to develop and submit desired policies.
Questions about the meeting topics can be directed to Linda Meschke at linda@ruraladvantage.org or 507-238-5449. If you are not able to attend, suggested policies can be submitted directly to Linda Meschke.
Thank you for your assistance and participation in this process. We look forward to seeing and hearing from you on the 23rd of August 7 PM.
