Welcome to KSUM Country!
|
KSUM first signed on the air on December 31, 1948. From that day on, KSUM has been a trusted source for news, sports, ag information, and entertainment. From the days of live music and bands playing in our old downtown studios...from Annabelle Webb and Marv Carlson, all the way to today's popular country music, KSUM has a proud tradition of service to the people of Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa.
Agriculture is a major industry in Martin and surrounding counties, and KSUM works hard to provide farmers with important information they need to run a successful operation. Our farm broadcaster, Mike Murphy, has decades of broadcasting experience. Originally a "local" boy raised on a farm in neighboring Faribault County, Mike is only the second Farm Director in KSUM's 60-year plus history. This speaks to our long tradition of providing important information with people you know and trust.
Our target audience is age 30+ adults, with a strong leaning to agriculture interests. We play a mix of popular modern country music along with classics from all of the best-known artists. Our day is filled with local news, weather, ag news, community information, and sports reporting. In addition, we carry Fairmont High School and other area sporting events during the school year, as well as Minnesota Golden Gopher sports and Minnesota Wild NHL hockey.
Our airstaff has decades of experience providing information and entertainment to our listeners. Our announcers love what they do, and you can hear the difference on 1370 KSUM!
