 Dan Brookens is the host of The Morning Buzz show on Classic KFMC, 106.5. He is also Program Director of KSUM-AM and KFMC-FM. Dan also does play-by-play of area high school sports, including the Fairmont Cardinals, on AM 1370, KSUM.
A few quick things to know about yours truly:
I've been married to my better half, Jennifer, for more than 14 years. You might read her articles in the Fairmont Sentinel newspaper, she's a reporter. We are the proud parents of two, daughter Kaycie and son Brendan, who was born the day after my birthday! We get to enjoy 2-day long birthday bashes from now on!
In 2008 I was elected to the Fairmont Area School Board, which has been a fantastic experience. I highly recommend participating in public service to anyone, it is very rewarding. I also am the President of the Fairmont Community Ed & Recreation advisory board. I've been lucky enough to get to know many fantastic people during these activities.
Favorite Classic KFMC bands: U2, ZZ Top, The Clash, and Van Halen. Also loves: Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and lots of lesser-known stuff from the 80's and 90's.
Favorite Movies: Hoosiers, Animal House, Caddyshack, Slap Shot.
Favorite TV Shows: Simpsons, MXC, That 70's Show, King Of The Hill, Australian Rules Football (yes, Australian Rules Football)
Least Favorite Foods: Canned Tuna, Zucchini, and Olives.
Favorite Foods: Pretty much everything else, but I can go for ice cream any day, any time.
Sports: I root for the Twins, Vikings, Wild, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Black Hills State Yellowjackets, Tony Stewart, and anyone who beats the Yankees.
Future Ambitions: Fix up my house, lose weight, travel, continue to try to be as entertaining, informative, and helpful as possible on your radio.
